Senior Vice President, Construction Services
FBBInsurance
FBBInsurance began as Dan Bottrell Agency in 1936, serving exclusively contractors and delivering the first Highway bond to a road builder in Mississippi. Since that time, we have grown into a multi facetted bonding and risk management agency with offices all over the Southeast United Â鶹´«Ã½s. Our team of well-trained professionals provides expert advice and appropriate solutions for a wide variety of bonding and risk management needs. One of the foremost authorities in Captive placement. We are widely respected as one of the most seasoned bond organizations in the Country. We are members of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, Associated Builders and Contractors, Mississippi Roadbuilders Association, Associate General Contractors, Mississippi Roofing Contractors Association, American Subcontractors Association and many other industry organizations.FBBInsurance is one of the top 50 Bank owned agencies in America.
Tell us a little about your role with FBBInsurance.
As a previous shareholder of Dan Bottrell Agency and now an employee of FBBInsurance, I manage a large book of primarily construction accounts. We place bonds with Surety companies both nationally and internationally. In addition to managing and maximizing contractors' bonding programs, my team places insurance with national and regional companies. We have formed Captives based in the Cayman Islands and continue to place all variety of risks with multiple Group Captives. My team consists of two Insurance account managers and one bond account manager with additional support staff including a claims manager and risk service and loss control personnel. My book approaches two million in revenue and well over twenty million in premium.
Why did your company join the advisory board?
Most certainly to give back to the industry and encourage bright young adults to enter the construction field. For years, the goal of the program was to reach its accreditation, which BCS now has, and since that time you are seeing the department grow by leaps and bounds. In addition, you are seeing some of the most talented leaders select the program and the industry. It is my pleasure and honor to be a part of such a fine group of successful industry members and foster the growth of BCS at MSU.
Advice for students:
Wake up every morning with your goals in mind. Be honest and respectful in your dealings with others. Never be afraid to work too hard. Be generous to a fault. Enjoy every moment God has given you.
