Funding Needs

Funding Needs

The Advancement Funds within the Â鶹´«Ã½ support many of the needs in the college and its departments. Each department has unique values, goals, and needs for funding, highlighted below:

School of Architecture

The School of Architecture Advancement Fund supports many initiatives, goals and urgent needs within the School of Architecture. It provides a margin of excellence in the school’s efforts, producing an impact on faculty and students that would otherwise be impossible under current state funding.

Department of Art

In celebration of their 50th Anniversary, the Department of Art is raising funds to support several student opportunities:

  • Student Travel Awards
    • Field Trips: The department’s New York Field Study class is growing in popularity, and we hope to continue to be able to provide and help fun such great opportunities for students.
    • Study Abroad: The Department of Art encourages students to experience studying abroad; however, many students need scholarship support to be able to take advantage of such opportunities.

Building Construction Science Program

The Building Construction Program hopes to put more funds toward travel, site visit, and networking opportunities for students as well as student scholarships.

Students in the program travel each year to metropolitan areas where they engage in site visits and meetings with professionals. These visits have a significant positive and long lasting impact on their education and future careers. The BCS Program is committed to increasing the scope and value of its students’ educational experiences by helping support travel and networking opportunities.

Interior Design Program

The Interior Design Program has a goal to increase freshmen scholarship funds for interior design majors. Being able to offer scholarship money to incoming students helps the program continue to recruit the best and brightest future interior designers. The program currently has two scholarships funded specifically for freshmen – the Cindy Simpson Loyalty Scholarship and Sherry Wingo Scholarship.
