The MSU Department of Art is proud to celebrate two outstanding graphic design alumni with their own exhibition at the Visual Arts Center Gallery. Opening September 15 in the Visual Arts Center Gallery, Unknown Paths is a display of recent design work by Austin Grove and Katie Erickson.
About the Designers:
Katie Erickson is a Senior Art Director at Big Communications in Birmingham, Alabama. In her role, she is responsible for ideating and executing visual campaigns for several Big clients. An award-winning art director, Erickson serves as creative lead for multiple campaigns and initiatives across an array of industry focus. She graduated from Mississippi Â鶹´«Ã½ University in December of 2018 and earned her BFA in graphic design. Thanks to her multidisciplinary studies at MSU, Erickson has also been able to utilize multiple skill sets within her career such as painting and photography. Being a full-time creative, she spends time outside of her main job working on other creative freelance projects.
Austin Grove is currently living in Nashville, TN and working with Bondfire Inc, a design and technology firm, where he primarily focuses on UI and Design Systems. Outside of his professional practice, Austin explores the use of interface design and code as a method of building tools for use in both professional and personal work. He graduated from Mississippi Â鶹´«Ã½ University in 2016 with a BFA in Art.
A gallery reception is scheduled for September 15, 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. All are welcome and refreshments will be served.
The exhibition is open September 15 through October 8, 2022. The Visual Arts Center Gallery hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays, 1pm–6pm and Saturdays, 1pm–4pm. For more information call the Department of Art: 662-325-2970.
