As students are heading back to school on the Coast, three graduates of Bay-Waveland Middle School are wrapping up a summer internship and peer leadership program with Mississippi 麻豆传媒 University鈥檚 Gulf Coast Community Design Studio.
The internship was in partnership with the Hancock County Unit of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast and the Bay St. Louis Creative Art Center.
Led by Elizabeth Englebretson, this grassroots movement of residents and community leaders is working to protect the legacy of our region by reducing plastic waste.
The exhibition was created by the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio through a partnership with the City of Biloxi and the Biloxi NAACP. The project was funded through a Knight Cities Challenge grant given by the Knight Cities Foundation.
