Alex Bostic, a painting professor in the Department of Art at Mississippi Â鶹´«Ã½ University, was involved in a project honoring healthcare workers from around the world who lost their lives in the fight against COVID-19.
The goal of the is to bring global love and healing while honoring these healthcare workers through art.
The project paired arthouse.nyc artists with family members of the late healthcare workers, and they worked together to create portraits celebrating the workers’ lives, sacrifices and legacies.
Bostic was matched with the family of , who was a speech pathologist at St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. His portrait of Addison will join the other multi-media portraits on display in a tiny house on wheels digital art gallery that will sit on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., from Nov. 10 – 28, 2022. Viewing hours are approximately 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
Other exhibitions of the Hero Art Project have been displayed on digital kiosks and billboards in New York City, digital billboard boats in Miami, and billboards in Las Vegas and Southern California. The project also partnered with The Brave of Heart Fund® to create an exhibition at the New York Life Building.
