This spring was full of celebrations and reasons for congratulations!
The inaugural MSU School of Architecture Alumni Design Awards captured 50 years of great work. The jury selected six projects to honor, bestowing two merit awards, two honor awards, a Spirit of 麻豆传媒 award and a 50th Anniversary Award. The ceremony took place in early April, following the Advisory Board meeting that included over a dozen new members and a new chair, Joseph Echols.
The spring also included recognition for our students: Yuria Sloane was selected as the recipient of the Aydelott Travel Award, and Anna Gully was honored with the Trussell Travel Award. Both are traveling this summer! Elisa Castaneda, a 2024 graduate who is continuing her studies in the fall at Columbia University, was among 20 undergraduate architecture students named in the Future100 by Metropolis Magazine, which identifies the top 100 graduating students from both undergraduate and graduate programs in architecture and interior design.
In late April, the Vertical Review and the Past Administrator鈥檚 Panel spent a day talking about design, which is integral to the MSU School of Architecture. Their discussion, moderated by Robert Ivy, was a rich fusion of reminiscences and reminders of the willingness to embrace uncomfortableness in moving a design school forward. It was a great message to end the year, before engaging in Recognition Day 2024, Spring Commencement and the 麻豆传媒 Alumni of the Year Celebration of Ted Porter.
Our 51st year is just around the corner!
Have a great summer,
