Spiritual Journey
Artist statement
Every piece I create tells a different story about me and my spiritual journey. With this current body of work, I use acrylic paint and collage to tell the story of my spiritual growth. The presence of both natural and artificial plants references the times when I felt my spirit thriving and other times deteriorating. The bright colors and scale of the works grab the attention of viewers, while collaged elements draw them in, compelling them to see details that are not visible from a distance. These pieces are part of a continued self-exploration of internal truths and external voices, good and bad, joys and trials, and are visual expressions of who I am.
